Who and What We Are

We are the Marin Chapter of the California California Grand Jurors' Association, an association of former and current California Civil Grand Jurors.

The mission of the California Grand Jurors' Association (CGJA) is "to promote government accountability by improving the training and resources available to California's 58 regular grand juries and educating the public about the substantial local government oversight and reporting powers these grand juries have."  The articles of incorporation and bylaws of the CGJA can be found on their Web site at at http://www.cgja.org/ under the Board Information tab.

The purposes of the Marin Chapter are:

  1. To engage in activities to increase the effectiveness of the Marin County Grand Jury

  2. To join with the California Grand Jurors’ Association in the purposes listed in that Association’s Articles of Incorporation

  3. To complement the grand jury system in its purpose of ensuring effective, efficient and responsible operation of the agencies and offices of local government

This chapter is a membership organization, the active members of which elect its board of directors and officers and conduct the business and programs of the organization.
